BIO

Tadhg Pyne is a visual artist based in County Clare, Ireland. Working primarily in oils, Pyne’s practice is centered on a deep engagement with the rugged topography and shifting maritime light of the West of Ireland. His work explores the distinct landscapes of Clare, Galway, and Mayo, seeking to capture the quietude and atmospheric "in-between" moments that define the Atlantic seaboard.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Drawing inspiration from the interplay of mist, stone, and sea, Pyne utilises a tonalist palette and layered glazing techniques to replicate the visceral experience of the Irish terrain. His paintings often focus on the structural rhythm of the land, from the ancient geometry of dry-stone walls to the soft diffusion of light over mountain peaks, inviting a meditative response to the familiar vistas of the West.

CV

Tadhg is an Associate Member of Visual Artists Ireland. His work is held in several private collections across Ireland and continues to be informed by the transient weather systems and wild, elemental places of the Irish coast.
